writing is a whole different ball game! I so admire the ability of great writers to reach deeply into themselves to touch us.

I love this piece so much, Connie. I love that we get to open these windows onto ourselves for others to look through. It's difficult to read, as well, but transformative. xoxox

Good writing is when the technique matches what the story comprehends. In this way, "Lake Ontario," is a strong piece of writing. The circumstances are not what any of us should desire, but I find myself wanting to return to the details, the certainties, the hesitations, the writer's calm, and maybe the forgiveness. Going back, returning can sometimes be an act of forgiveness. Certainly the piece does not beg this of its readers or of itself, but there is space to pause in what is not said. I am glad to be introduced to Constance's writing. I hope to read more.

Love this! You really go there & conjure up so much wonderful

squirmy life & emotion. I also love the expression "soft, lime-scented cheeks." Powerful, courageous piece.
