That was a very uncanny thing you did there, Sean. I was "tape-recording" my dog on our walk this morning. She's getting up there in her years. I just wanted a record of our moment. And it was quiet and soft. It's the panting. The scrape of her back foot on the pavement, the one that barely works anymore. Leftover raindrops on the leaves proving gravity right again when they land in the grass. That's why I think you did a very uncanny thing with your work this morning by elucidating a moment so tenderly. Bravo
Yes, saudade from Tabby. I have it up on my "wall board" from, I think, a previous comment from Tabby for another work herein. I wasn't sure but thought too of a pet or two or three whom I miss. However, the love that lasts presented within these lines and your words could apply to any and all life and spirit giving beings. Very moving. Thank you Sean Downing. Constance

Thank you. I think poetry is exactly that: slowing a moment down to appreciate every facet, like you just did.
Well, Sean, this is just plain luscious. Mmmmmm.
lovely. there is a word Portuguese word, "saudade", this poem expresses that feeling of longing beautifully.
I had to look that up. What a great, beautiful word. Thank you. I learned something today.
there is not an equivalent word in English.
